Tree Felling and Milling our own Wood

At some point all trees reach the end of their natural lives, and when they do - stricken by disease, or putting passers-by at risk - they inevitably have to come down. We’re always looking for ways to be as environmentally friendly as possible and make sure nothing ever goes to waste so, recently we milled our first piece of wood.

City trees can be a great way of sourcing high-quality sustainable timber, providing a valuable resource for furniture makers and clients. With a solid cooperative effort and we took on our first milling challenge (under the careful watch of Jon - our resident Jack of All Trades, who knows the process well). We’re pretty happy with the results so far, check back in with us in a few months to see how we get on with the next steps.
